NORTH CAPE MAY, NJ — 7th May — A residential structure fire at 4 Sunnyside Drive in North Cape May was reported, and the Rio Grande Fire Company responded. While personnel investigated the house, secured utilities, and looked for fire extension, firefighters arrived and started suppression operations. During the event, mutual help agencies from other Cape May County municipalities provided assistance on the spot.

After the main fire was put out, crews also carried out ventilation and overhaul operations to find any hot spots that remained. Engine companies, water supply, communications, and command operations must all work together to put out residential structure fires. According to department representatives, effective emergency response operations across the county are still supported by frequent training and regional mutual aid cooperation.
