The Ridgefield Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire on the west side of town at around 2:56 p.m. on May 2.

According to officials, workers came and contained the fire in about half an hour, stopping it from spreading. Ridgefield incident Prevention is still looking into what caused the incident.

The agency acknowledged the Countywide Rehab Unit for helping firefighters on the scene and praised mutual aid organizations for their cooperation throughout the event.
