East Prospect, PA — April 25th — In order to support the Tracy Ridge prescribed fire, Eastern York County FFC MopShots finished a mission at the Allegheny National Forest. To achieve containment goals, the team helped with mop-up, holding operations, and ignition support. The crew has reached a significant milestone with this assignment, operating on every U.S. Forest Service unit in the Eastern Region.

Programs for prescribed fires are intended to lessen the risk of wildfires, improve forest conditions, and reduce fuel loads. The crew is traveling to support continuing operations in Wisconsin and Michigan after being demobilized. The movement is a reflection of the ongoing need for skilled workers and regional cooperation throughout the spring fire season.
