MANCHESTER, NH - On April 10th, while Manchester fire companies were operating at the scene of a large brush fire, a building fire was reported on Walnut Street near downtown. Engine 11 arrived on scene with heavy fire and smoke showing, having extended to a car and electrical pole. As crews were getting set up, police requested EMS to the scene ASAP for a burn victim. A second-alarm was quickly sounded due to the volume of fire and exposure issues. The fire was fought defensively after a quick primary search, and took about 80 minutes to knock the flames down.
