Twin Mountain, NH - Twin Mountain Fire Rescue responded to a serious medical emergency in the Cog Railway parking area involving a patient experiencing a significant medical event in Coos County.

On August 20, 2026, Ambulance 1 and Car 1 arrived on scene at the paramedic level and immediately initiated a rapid patient assessment along with advanced life support interventions. Crews worked efficiently to stabilize the patient while preparing for expedited transport, recognizing the need for higher-level care and rapid evacuation.

Additional resources including X1, Utility 1, and Carroll Police Department were dispatched to the lower Bretton Woods Ski Area parking area to establish a secure landing zone for DHART. Personnel coordinated scene safety and ensured clear access for incomng air medical operations, allowing for a smooth and controlled handoff.

Once the landing zone was secured, the patient was transferred to DHART and flown to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center for further evaluation and treatment. The cordinated effort between ground EMS, fire resources, law enforcment, and air medical services ensured a timely and efective response in a challenging terrain-based incident.
