Second-Alarm Basement Fire in New Windsor

NEW WINDSOR, NY - Vails Gate FD responded to a basement fire on April 25th at 309 Butternut Drive. Vails Gate Command requested a second-alarm sounded, sending the Newburgh FD and Washingtonville FD to the scene. Firefighters knocked down the fire with a hand line and checked for extensions. Washingtonville FD was canceled, and New Windsor FD stood by in their quarters. Central Hudson was called for a service cut. New Windsor EMS and Police, and Deputy Fire Coordinator 36-14 were at the scene. Vails Gate Command requested the County Fire Inspector to the scene. The fire is currently under investigation.
