Arcade, NY - Volunteer firefighters managed a high-tempo operational sequence Tuesday afternoon, providing apparatus and suppression support to a mutual aid structure fire in Wyoming County before handling back-to-back local emergencies.

On the afternoon of September 8, the Arcade Fire Department was requested to assist the North Java Fire Company at an active structure fire located in the Town of Sheldon.

Arcade deployed Tanker 6 to integrate directly into rural water operations, providing sustained volume to an established tanker shuttle feeding the fireground. Engine 10 and a dedicated department ambulance provided standby coverage on scene, while supplementary Arcade firefighters joined suppression crews on the line to assist with attack efforts and physical overhaul.

The department’s busy operational tempo continued immediately after clearing the mutual aid assignment. Arcade emergency crews were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision on Main Street, stabilizing the scene and mitigating roadway hazards before responding to an emergency medical call within the Village shortly thereafter.

Department leadership extended appreciation to the volunteer members who turned out across multiple apparatus to maintain continuous coverage and handle three consecutive emergency responses throughout the afternoon.
