On April 23rd, the gordon heights fire department was activated for a reposted brush fire on gray ave. yaphank 31 arrived on scene and found a large brush fire in the rear of 30 gray ave and requested 3 additional brush trucks from yaphank and coram and middle island and engine company’s from farmingvile and middle island. gordon heights and yaphank arrived on scene and started to knock down the fire. coram and middle island arrived and helped with mop up. the scene was placed under control within 2 hours.
