Chimney Fire Contained on Pine Hill Road
Newport City, VT - The City of Newport Fire Department responded to a reported chimney fire on Pine Hill Road, dispatching Fire 1, Engine 2, Engine 3, Tower 1, and Rescue 5 to the scene.
Upon arrival, crews identified an active chimney fire and worked quickly to bring it under control. Firefighters removed the top section of the chimney pipe above the roof to access the source of the fire and utilized a chimney scrubber to clear out remaining embers. Ventilation efforts were also carried out to remove smoke from inside the residence.
The incident was brought under control without further extension, and units remained on scene to ensure all hot spots were fully extinguished. Newport Ambulance Service assisted by providing standby support.
All units later cleared the scene after operations were completed.
