Six-Alarm Blaze Destroys Astoria's First Reformed Church

QUEENS, NY - On April 23rd, FDNY firefighters responded on Queens Box 5-5- 75090- for a Fifth Alarm involving Astoria’s First Reformed Church, formed in 1839.
The Box was transmitted at 6:51 P.M., and successive alarms were quickly transmitted after. At 8:26 P.M., an additional alarm was transmitted for a six alarm response, along with numerous special calls.
One firefighter was injured in a collapse and was transported to Elmhurst Hospital Trauma Center. No other details were available, and the cause of the fire will be investigated.
