This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

On April 15, the Binghamton Fire Department was called to a commercial building fire at 159 Front Street after workers saw smoke in the vicinity.

The Fire Ambulance crew noticed a burning smell while driving on North Street and started looking into it. At around 8:07 p.m., smoke was detected coming from a laundry facility's roof and doors, generating a Full Alarm assignment. 21 and tower units showed up and pushed their way in. After conducting a search and extending a 300-foot handline, the crews discovered a burning commercial dryer within the structure. Quint 2 established a backup line to sustain operations, utilities were secured, and the fire was contained.
