ATKINSON, NH — April 13th — At 13 Wood Drive, the Atkinson Fire Department was called to a residential building fire. When units arrived, they discovered an outside fire that had started to spread inside. Due to smoke on several levels, crews finished extinguishing, looked for extensions, and ventilated the building. In accordance with reaction protocols, Plaistow's automatic mutual aid was triggered, helping with overhaul and fire control.
In roughly 13 minutes, the situation was brought under control, and shortly after, command was revoked. There were no reported injuries. Before arriving, an off-duty Massachusetts firefighter used a fire extinguisher to stop the spread of the fire, evacuated two residents, and called 911. Early intervention and well-coordinated operations supported a safe conclusion and lessened harm.
