Mastic Firefighters Deal With Crash on WIlliam Floyd

Mastic N.Y- On Monday April 5th around 4:30 PM the Mastic Fire Department and Mastic Ambulance company activated for a report of a Vehicle Crash on the Northbound William Floyd Parkway near the Home Depot. Chief of the Department Rudy Sunderman and Assistant Chief Gene Martucci both responded to the scene. On arrival the found a 2vehicle crash, all occupants were out however there were debris and fluids in the roadway. Chief Sunderman who was in charge advised the crews from engines 5-12-2 & 5-12-3 to bring brooms, shovels and speedy dry to clean up the debris and fluids as well as secure the battery.
Crews made quick work of the debris and fluids. Mastic Ambulance transported the injured parties in stable condition to a local hospital. Mastic FD Fire Police and Suffolk Police 7th Precinct officers handled traffic control both North and South on William Floyd Parkway near the scene. All FD units were back in service within about a half hour.
