York Beach and York Village Crews Control Motel Fire on Ocean Avenue

York Beach, ME — March 26th — A reported structure fire on Ocean Avenue prompted the York Beach and York Village Fire Departments to respond. Car 1 established command by arriving first and reporting smoke coming from a two-story motel. In order to start suppression operations, the first engine company was instructed to extend a hose connection to the second story. In a short amount of time, firefighters identified the fire, advanced the line, and contained it. There was reportedly little damage to the structure and its contents. There were fourteen firefighters working at the scene. While crews were dedicated to the response, the Ogunquit Fire Department offered station coverage for the Town of York during the event.
