York Fire Units Stabilize Scene at Route 1 Motor Vehicle Accident

York, ME — March 24th — Just north of the Kittery town line, on Route 1, York Fire Department personnel responded to a car accident. After arriving first and taking charge, K4 Captain Hilton reported a single-vehicle collision in which a pickup truck collided with a telephone pole. After securing the space, firefighters assessed the resident to make sure there were no injuries. While Central Maine Power arrived to inspect the damaged electric pole and overhead cables, personnel oversaw traffic and scene safety.


Squad 2, Engine 4, and C1 were among the eight firefighters working on the incident. Until the utility company finished its investigation and the area was evacuated, crews stayed in place.
