No Injuries Reported After Tractor Trailer Fire on I-95 South

The Norwalk Fire Department responded to a tractor trailer fire on Interstate 95 South between exits 17 and 16 on March 26th at 7:28 p.m. The Westport Fire Department also responded to help.
When firefighters arrived, they discovered the tractor part of a fully loaded tractor trailer strongly on fire. Crews rapidly deployed handlines and fought to contain the fire while safeguarding the trailer from further extension.
Firefighters were able to put out the fire and keep it from spreading to the trailer portion of the vehicle. Traffic in the area was disrupted as crews worked on the highway to ensure the incident was safe.
There were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
