Pole Jumps Out at Car In Shirley

Shirley N.Y- At approximately 8:48 AM on Wednesday, March 17th the Mastic Fire Department and the Mastic Volunteer Ambulance Company was toned out for a reported motor vehicle accident on North Bound William Floyd Parkway & Stuart Road. The first chief on the road was Chief Rudy Sunderman and quickly arrived on scene and found that he had a car into pole. The first engine on the road was engine 5-12-1 and was advised by Chief Sunderman that when they arrive on scene they had to secure the car and to grab brooms and shovels to clean up so debris from the car. Fire police unit 5-12-80 responded to help with traffic while firefighters cleaned up the accident.The Mastic Volunteer Ambulance Company responded with 1 ambulance and 2 first responders and quickly took up due to no injuries. All units were back in service within 30 minutes of being activated.
