RINDGE, NH - The Rindge Fire Department reported a very active 48-hour period as firefighters responded to 12 calls for service across the community and surrounding areas.
Beginning early on February 25th, crews handled a wide range of emergencies including EMS calls, fire alarm activations, a service call involving a water issue, and mutual aid coverage for a neighboring fire station in Ashburnham. During the same time frame, Engine 1 was dispatched to Jaffrey for a first-alarm structure fire on Pinecrest Road.
One of the most notable incidents occurred on Old New Ipswich Road, where firefighters responded to assist with a large animal rescue involving an ill horse that had become unable to stand. Crews from Rindge worked alongside the New Ipswich Fire Department and their specialized Large Animal Rescue Team to safely lift and stabilize the horse so it could receive medical care.
