Mutual Aid Response Sends Auburn Crews to Candia Incident

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

AUBURN, NH — March 6th — When Candia Fire Rescue received a report of many automobiles on fire, the Auburn NH Fire Department arrived on mutual assistance. Tanker 1 was sent to support the teams working on the area with water supplies. In order to contain flames and stop them from spreading to neighboring cars or buildings, vehicle fires may need a constant supply of water. Tanker shuttles are frequently utilized to keep water flowing for suppression operations in places with few hydrants.

Until the fires were contained, Auburn units assisted Candia firemen with the situation. Mutual aid agreements between adjacent departments contribute to the availability of sufficient staff and equipment during work-related incidents. Tanker 1 cleared and headed back to Auburn after helping on the scene and supporting water delivery operations.
