Tanker 1 and Tanker 2 Handle Back-to-Back Fire Calls

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

AUBURN, NH — March 8th — Within minutes of one another, the Auburn NH Fire Department responded to two mutual assistance building fire occurrences. Due to a reported working building fire, Tanker 1 was initially sent to the Town of Hampstead. Six minutes later, the Town of Chester called for Tanker 2 to help with a reported kitchen fire. Tanker assistance was necessary for both replies in order to keep the water supply for firefighting operations consistent.

Tanker shuttles are still crucial in many parts of southern New Hampshire where hydrant systems could be scarce. At both events, Auburn personnel collaborated with other agencies to support fireground operations. During working fires, mutual aid responses like these help guarantee that sufficient personnel and equipment are available. Auburn units went back into service after helping at both scenes.
