Lacona Fire Department Provides Standby Support During Redfield Structure Fire

Lacona, NY - On February 19, 2026, at approximately 3:22 PM, the Lacona Fire Department was activated by the Oswego County 911 Center in response to a reported structure fire at 188 County Route 27 in the Redfield Fire District.


Lacona’s role was to provide standby coverage for Redfield’s floor, ensuring support for surrounding departments responding to the scene. The department responded with Engine 13-2-1 and Chief 13-0-1, while additional personnel remained at the Lacona station throughout the incident.


Lacona was released from standby and returned to service at approximately 4:20 PM.


Other agencies involved included Redfield, Orwell, Williamstown, and Florence Fire Departments, Northern Oswego County Ambulance, the Oswego County Fire Coordinator’s Office, the Oswego County 911 Center, and the New York State Police.
