Chazy, NY — 21st February — A structure fire along Route 22 in the West Chazy region was responded to by the Chazy Volunteer Fire Department, located at 9666 State Route 9 in Chazy. As workers attempted to contain the fire and safeguard surrounding properties, other fire departments were called in to help. While firefighters worked at the scene, officials warned that some homeowners in West Chazy and the neighboring areas would face brief power disruptions.
As part of the incident's safety protocols, utility workers were supposed to inspect electrical lines. While equipment and suppression efforts were in progress, only emergency traffic was permitted on Route 22 between Fiske Road and Clark Street. In Clinton County, mutual aid reactions are frequent, enabling nearby departments to send more personnel, water, and equipment in the event of more serious events.
