Kingston Driver Faces DWI After Crashing Into Pole

KINGSTON, NY - A truck vs. pole crash early Friday morning, February 24th, sent the Kingston Fire Dept. to Broadway at Stuyveasnt. Upon arrival, firefighters found fire in the engine compartment with the lone driver trapped in the cab. Firefighters worked for 20 minutes to free the driver while simultaneously extinguishing the fire. The driver was taken by Mobile Life Support Ambulance to HealthAlliance Hospital for treatment. The driver was later charged with driving while intoxicated by state police.
