Oak Hill-Durham Crews Handle Fully Involved Vehicle Fire

OAK HILL, NY — February 17th — A completely involved Mid-Hudson Cable utility truck fire was responded to by firefighters from the Oak Hill-Durham Volunteer Fire Company, located at 103 County Route 22. The operator was operating in the vehicle's raised bucket when the event happened. As the vehicle caught fire, the operator was unable to descend due to a malfunctioning bucket.


The operator was able to safely and unharmedly evacuate the bucket thanks to the assistance of a second cable truck on the scene. ETA 21-3, M 21-4, TA 21-5, and Cars 1, 2, and 3 were among the responding units. Firefighters put out the fire and secured the area. The car had significant damage and was deemed a total loss once the fire was put out, even though the driver was safely helped to the ground.
