This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

INDIAN LAKE, NY — February 27th — Early in the morning, the Indian Lake Fire Department responded to a reported fire in the Long Lake area by offering mutual help. Firefighters from units were sent to help nearby teams that were already working at the incident. The New York State Police, BMLFD, NFD, and TLFD were among the agencies investigating the event. During the operation, Long Lake Ladies Auxiliary members supported firemen.

NRFD and SPFD supplied station coverage for the Indian Lake district and helped personnel return and restart equipment while Indian Lake units were dedicated to the call. In Hamilton County and the Adirondack region, neighboring departments frequently swap personnel and equipment to help overnight events, a practice known as mutual aid responses.
