Mutual Aid Response Brings Several Departments to Long Lake

LONG LAKE, NY — February 27th — With support from other local agencies, Long Lake Fire Department firefighters battled an early morning fire. LLFD Squad C, Long Lake EMS, Indian Lake Fire Department, Newcomb Fire Department, Blue Mountain Lake Fire Department, Tupper Lake Fire Department, New Russia Fire Department, Saranac Lake Fire Department, Long Pond Fire Department, and Raquette Lake Fire Department were among the mutual aid agencies.


The New York State Police and the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control offered additional assistance. Essex County Dispatch handled communications, and the Town of Long Lake Water and Highway Departments helped with utilities and road access. In Adirondack villages, where nearby departments share personnel and equipment during emergency situations, mutual aid is crucial to fire safety.
