This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

CATSKILL, NY — February 11th — A dump truck fire was reported along U.S. Route 9W south of the Village of Catskill in the afternoon, and firefighters from the Catskill Fire Company, Inc. responded. The department sent out all three engines to guarantee a sufficient supply of water because the event took place in an area lacking hydrants. A total of 13 Catskill firefighters responded to the scene along with two ride-along members.

Stretched handlines were utilized by crews to contain the vehicle fire, and water carried on the gear was used to start suppression efforts. The department frequently responds to car and equipment fires along Route 9W, a significant thoroughfare in Greene County. Before clearing the route and putting the units back into operation, crews attempted to put out the fire and secure the area.
