MINERVA, NY — February 17th — In response to a reported structure fire near Goodnow Flow in Essex County, Minerva Volunteer Fire & Rescue, 1495 NY-28N, responded Tuesday night to offer mutual aid to the Newcomb Volunteer Fire Department. In order to support tanker operations and ensure a consistent water supply for firemen operating at the structure, Minerva personnel built up a fill site due to the rural location and restricted access to hydrants.

Suppression teams were able to continue their fire assault and overhaul operations in the isolated location thanks to the operation. Car 390, Car 393, Car 394, Engine 492, Engine 493, and Engine 494 were among the Minerva units in use at the time of the event. Before leaving the area, crews helped for a few hours. Every Minerva unit was put back into operation. No injuries were reported.
