Westville Department Acknowledges Injuries at Boonville Church Incident

WESTVILLE, NY — February 17th — A pastor and firefighters hurt in an explosion at a church in Boonville, New York, received relief from the Westville Volunteer Fire Department, located at 3891 State Route 37. Following reports of an explosion within the church, emergency personnel arrived. First responders, including firefighters, helped with patient care, building security, and evacuation. A number of people were reportedly hurt during the incident, including the pastor of the church and firefighters.


Responders may face extra risks as a result of internal explosions, such as structural damage and potential gas-related issues. Coordination between law enforcement, EMS, and fire departments is frequently necessary for these occurrences. The Boonville personnel and people impacted received support from the Westville department.
