Firefighters Respond to Evening Structure Fire in Unadilla

At approximately 5:21 p.m. on March 5, the Unadilla Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire in the Village of Unadilla.


The first incoming unit was on the site within five minutes of dispatch, with a crew of six firemen. Crews promptly launched an intensive fire assault, bringing the situation under control and limiting further damage to the structure.


The Wells Bridge Fire Department was initially placed on standby, but subsequently responded to provide manpower and support. The Sidney Fire Department, City of Oneonta Fire Department, and Franklin Fire Department all supplied additional mutual aid assistance. Otsego County Emergency Services, the Otsego County 911 Center, EMS teams, the New York State Police, and the Unadilla Fire Department Auxiliary all provided assistance throughout the event.


Officials stated that the response demonstrated the need of regional mutual aid and coordinated actions by emergency agencies around the region.
