Central Square, NY — March 3rd — When a garage fire was reported in the Pennellville Volunteer Fire Department's district on Biddlecum Road, firefighters from the Caughdenoy Volunteer Fire Department Inc. automatically responded as mutual assistance. When the sheriff's deputies arrived, they initially noticed smoke pouring from a three-car garage attached to the house, endangering it. Shortly after being dispatched, Pumper 622 arrived and discovered that there was a lot of smoke and a fire in the garage.
A second alarm was requested to bring more firefighters and equipment because there wasn't enough manpower during the day. To put out multiple handlines and contain the fire, crews collaborated with Palermo Volunteer Fire Department and Phoenix Enterprise Fire Company No. 1. The water supply was supported by tanker operations. Before going back to work, firefighters worked for almost four hours.
