VALDOSTA, GA — February 18th — In order to increase local power to carry out inspections, fire investigations, and plan reviews, the State of Georgia Commissioner of Insurance Office deputized personnel of the Fire Marshal's Office with Lowndes County Fire Rescue. By enabling more duties to be handled locally, officials said the change will increase efficiency, simplify safety compliance, and lighten the strain for state employees.
Battalion Chief Nathan Huffmaster, Fire Inspectors Lloyd Green, John Crittenden, and Terry Parsons, and Deputy Chief Fire Marshal Mark Maskule are among those deputized. Stronger community risk reduction, better collaboration with businesses and builders, and quicker reaction to code concerns are all supported by the increased authority. In order to lower incidences and safeguard locals and first responders alike, fire prevention and code enforcement continue to be top concerns in Lowndes County.
