REMERTON, GA — February 1st — In order to improve operational readiness and regional collaboration, the Remerton Fire Department collaborated with the Valdosta Fire Department, Brooks County Fire Department, and Lowndes County Fire Rescue to conduct a live fire training exercise. Firefighters practiced realistic, controlled scenarios involving command functions, ventilation, search and rescue, and fire attacks.
According to officials, the training emphasized safe fireground operations, collaboration, and communication while adhering to national safety requirements. Multi-agency exercises enhance decision-making and situational awareness while ensuring that crews can collaborate during significant or complicated situations. In addition to promoting firefighter safety and skill development, live fire training keeps units ready to defend people and property while fostering strong relationships throughout South Georgia.
