February 23, 2026 — Adelphia Fire Company concluded its winter storm emergency standby operations after volunteers responded to approximately two dozen incidents and logged nearly 400 manpower hours over a 30-hour period. Crews worked continuously throughout the storm, partnering with Howell Police Department and Howell Township EMS to ensure rapid response across the district, including assisting with a call involving an individual in labor. As conditions improve, fire officials are reminding residents to take precautions during post-storm cleanup, including pacing themselves while shoveling snow to prevent overexertion. Homeowners are also encouraged to clear furnace and dryer exhaust vents, gas meters, and to adopt and maintain the nearest fire hydrant to help ensure emergency access. The department expressed appreciation for the community’s continued support and welcomed those interested in serving to contact the company about volunteer opportunities.
