Fall River, MA - On February 17th around 3:15 P.M., firefighters responded to 846/848 Second Street for a smoke investigation. On arrival, Engine 4 reported "smoke showing from the 'A/B' corner of a two-and-a-half story wood-frame". Engine 4 brought an attack line up the exterior fire escape to the third floor landing where the fire was located. A second attack line was brought up the interior stairs. Fire crews chased the fire to the attic, where it was extinguished. Investigators believe someone smoking on the fire escape was the cause of the fire.
