Recall Sounded on Hebron Street Fire; Injured Firefighter Treated for Non-Life-Threatening Injuries

Springfield, MA - A firefighter was injured and transported to an area hospital Tuesday evening as emergency crews battled and extinguished a structural fire at 26 Hebron Street.

On September 15, Springfield Fire and Emergency Services units were dispatched to the Hebron Street residence following reports of an active structure fire. First-arriving companies initiated an attack on the blaze, working to halt its spread through the building before successfully bringing the fire under control and striking the recall.

During suppression and overhaul operations, one firefighter sustained injuries on the fireground. The injured responder was treated on scene by EMS and transported by ambulance to a local hospital with injuries characterized as non-life-threatening.

With the flames extinguished, the scene was turned over to investigators from the Springfield Arson and Bomb Squad, who responded to conduct an origin-and-cause examination into the incident.
