On January 24, Martin County Fire Rescue responded to a significant motor vehicle accident involving two commercial flatbed trucks on the southbound Florida Turnpike near mile marker 128. Units arrived to find a working fire caused by a collision between the vehicles. The first truck was transporting two autos, and the second was carrying manure. Firefighters worked to put out the fire and secure the site. Despite the extent of the damage, officials reported no injuries and no patients. All southbound lanes were closed at the Palm City entrance to allow staff to handle firefighting, debris removal, and cargo cleanup. Northbound lanes stayed open. Response units comprised E22, E23, Alert 1, Battalion 2, EMS 2, SPOP 33, T40, R22, and R231.
