EUSTIS, FL — February 5th —The Eustis Fire Department has revealed the recipients of its 2025 awards, which recognize members' dedication, professionalism, and community service. Peers vote on the annual accolades, which reflect the esteem and recognition received within the department. Engineer and EMT John McDermott was selected Firefighter of the Year. Chris Benway, Senior Engineer/Paramedic and Field Training Officer, got the Paramedic of the Year award. Fire Chief Michael Swanson was named Officer of the Year.
