Two-Alarm Fire Damages Two Homes in Palm River

TAMPA, FL — February 22nd — Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded to a two-alarm residential building fire on Tidewater Trail in the Palm River neighborhood on January 22. First responders found a fully engulfed single-story home, with high winds pushing flames and heat toward an adjacent house, which also caught fire.
Command requested a second alarm to summon more resources. Firefighters prioritized safeguarding the exposure before focusing suppression efforts on the original structure. The fire was brought under control within 45 minutes. A citizen was taken from the location. No firefighter injuries were recorded, and searches of both homes revealed no occupants. The Hillsborough County Fire Rescue Fire Investigations Unit is still on the site to establish the cause. The units were L9, E37, E45, TR28, R37, BC5, BC4, E16, E12, R16A, A46, L11, E7, R16, HR32, BC1, C11, HIT9, C5, C3, E1, investigators, and support workers.
