Hancock Maine Volunteer Fire Department Releases January Call Summary

February 2, 2026 — The Hancock Maine Volunteer Fire Department reports a busy start to the new year, responding to 45 calls during the month of January.
Incidents included 3 personal injury accidents, 1 trail rescue, 1 propane alarm, 1 outside fire, 1 electrical problem, 1 standby at station request, 1 mutual aid ice rescue, 2 mutual aid propane leaks, 2 mutual aid structure fires, and 32 medical calls. January’s total brings the department’s 2026 call volume to 45.
In addition to emergency responses, members held their regular monthly meeting and completed annual required trainings. The department also welcomed two new members. Progress continues on the new fire station, which is nearing completion. The department looks forward to sharing the finished facility with the community in the near future.
The department also recognized Firefighter and newly licensed EMT Jude for passing her NREMT examination. Balancing EMT class, Fire Academy, work, and family commitments, Jude demonstrated strong dedication to serving the community. Members extended congratulations and appreciation for her commitment.
