ALLIGATOR POINT, FL — January 31st — The Alligator Point / St. Teresa Volunteer Fire Department announced the acquisition of five new Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) units, as well as spare air bottles and masks, thanks to money from the Florida State Fire Marshal Assistance to Firefighters Grant program. According to department officials, the new equipment enhances firefighter safety and facilitates operations in Immediately Dangerous to Life or Health conditions. SCBA systems are essential for interior firefighting because they allow firefighters to work safely in smoke and toxic environments while protecting people and property.
