COLLINS, GA — January 23rd — A brush fire was reported on Sam Green Road, and the Collins Volunteer Fire Department/Station 3, located at 320 NW Main Street, responded. There was an active vegetation fire when stations 3, 8, and 11 arrived after being called. To control the fire and safeguard surrounding properties, firefighters employed coordinated techniques and the deployment of hand lines.

While performing suppression and overhaul operations, crews worked to set up control lines and keep an eye on circumstances. There were no reported injuries. In the area, brush fires are still a risk during dry and windy seasons. The government advises citizens to observe local safety regulations and exercise caution when burning outside. A safe and efficient response is facilitated by routine training and cooperation across stations.
