NORTH GROSVENOR DALE, CT — January 26th — A two-car collision at the intersection of Riverside Drive and Blain Road prompted the response of the Community Fire Company, located at 862 Riverside Dr. When crews arrived, they discovered that the tragedy was partly caused by slick roads during the winter. In order to control traffic and ensure safety, firefighters controlled the area, looked for injuries, and collaborated with the local police.

While the road was cleared of ice patches and both cars were removed, emergency personnel stayed on the scene. In the event of snow and freezing conditions, officials urged drivers to slow down, increase following distance, and give themselves more time. Responders emphasize the need for cautious driving as winter conditions continue to make travel in northeastern Connecticut dangerous. After the area was cleansed and deemed safe for traffic, the route was reopened.
