COVENTRY, CT — January 21st — In the 2900 block of Main Street, a car collided with a utility pole, prompting the Town of Coventry Fire EMS, located at 1712 Main St., Coventry, CT, to attend to the scene. Because of the incident, cables were hanging across the road, posing a safety risk and necessitating a temporary road closure.

In order to address the hazard, firefighters evaluated the driver, secured the area, and collaborated with utility crews and local law police. Traffic was rerouted, and drivers were encouraged to take other routes, such as South River Road to Talcott Hill Road. Residents were advised by officials to stay away from downed wires and to report any hazards right once. After the situation was cleansed and it was determined that everything was safe, Main Street reopened.
