COVENTRY, CT — January 16th —  The road was temporarily closed while firefighters worked after the Town of Coventry Fire EMS, located at 1712 Main St., Coventry, CT, responded to a reported chimney fire on Woodland Road. To stop the burning material from spreading inside the building, firefighters entered the chimney and cleared it. Workers ventilated the house, kept an eye on the situation, and looked for signs of fire spread.

To keep the scene safe, local law officers helped with traffic control and detours. Residents were allowed to stay in their homes, and there were no reported injuries. According to officials, preventing similar tragedies can be achieved through regular chimney cleaning and appropriate maintenance of heating equipment. Following firefighters' confirmation that the fire was completely out and the area was safe, Woodland Road reopened.
