Durham Fire and Rescue arrived just after midnight to reports of a fully engaged structure fire on Reed Road. At 12:07 a.m., the Androscoggin County Sheriff's Office dispatch got the original call. Durham Car 2 arrived first, confirming that the residence was completely involved. A first-alarm assignment was requested for tankers exclusively, delivering water supplies from nearby communities. Firefighters remained on the scene for more than eight hours to suppress the big fire and complete the overhaul operations. One occupant was displaced as a result of the fire, and the home is considered a total loss. No injuries were reported to occupants or firefighters. Durham Fire and Rescue was assisted by mutual aid partners from Lisbon, Freeport, Brunswick, Pownal, New Gloucester, and North Yarmouth, highlighting the importance of regional cooperation during extended incidents.
