Hubbardston, MA — January 29th — Early on Wednesday morning, the Gardner Fire Department received assistance from the Hubbardston Fire Department, which is based at 48 Gardner Road in Hubbardston, Massachusetts, during a two-alarm fire. In response to a call for mutual aid to assist with fire suppression efforts, Engine 1 arrived. When crews arrived, they helped with hose line and support assignments and assimilated into fireground operations.

There were further difficulties with water supply, equipment operation, and firefighter safety because they had to work in below-freezing temperatures. For a long time, Hubbardston staff worked alongside Gardner crews and other mutual help departments until the situation was stabilized. Established mutual aid agreements were used to maintain coverage in Hubbardston while Engine 1 was committed in Gardner. There were no recorded injuries among Hubbardston firefighters.
