Lancaster, MA — February 5th — The Lancaster Fire Department responded to a medical alarm activation at 30 Parker Road, Apartment 6. The incident was escalated to a potential structural fire as units were on their way and dispatchers received many 911 calls reporting smoke coming from the building. When firefighters arrived, they discovered that a basement apartment in the six-unit structure was emitting a lot of smoke. Automatic and mutual aid were brought to the scene after crews evacuated the remaining apartments and declared a working fire.

After launching an internal assault, firefighters found a woman living in the basement flat. She was transferred with ALS support after being saved and treated on the spot. The fire was limited to the original dwelling. There was one displaced resident. The cause is still being looked into.
