The Paramus Fire Company 2 responded as the first-due engine to a reported structure fire on January 1st, handling its first call of 2026. A second alert was sent due to the circumstances upon landing. Three levels of the structure were reported to be on fire. Under the incident command system, Engine 2 workers stretched and ran three hoselines, starting a fire attack and assisting with suppression efforts.
Coordinated engine company work, water supply management, and staffing are necessary for multi-alarm occurrences. Paramus Fire Company 2 operated alongside mutual aid partners as crews worked to control the fire and support ongoing operations.
