Chief 20, Chief 201, and Tower 21 of the Oradell Fire Department arrived at Berkley Street in New Milford on January 31st in response to a reported structure fire. When the first New Milford units arrived, they established command and verified that the fire was operational. Tower 21 crews conducted primary searches to confirm all occupants were out of the residence and placed ground ladders around the structure to support ventilation operations and provide additional egress for interior crews. Fireground operations focused on coordinated search, ventilation, and suppression.
The Oradell Police Department assisted by operating Oradell’s Emergency Services Drone Unit, using thermal imaging to support situational awareness on scene. Firefighters from the New Milford Volunteer Fire Department and the River Edge Volunteer Fire Department also operated at the incident as part of the coordinated response.
